Michele Miglionico presents new haute couture collection in Rome’s Piazza del Campidoglio

Designer Michele Miglionico showcased his new autumn-winter 2024/25 haute couture collection at the second edition of “Ensemble,” a major event dedicated to Italian haute couture. The event, held in Rome’s Piazza del Campidoglio, featured nine prestigious Italian haute couture houses.

An event promoted by Rome Capital and Lazio Region

The initiative was promoted by Alessandro Onorato, Rome Capital’s councilor for fashion, major events, tourism, and sport, and Roberta Angelilli, vice president and councilor for economic development, commerce, craftsmanship, industry, and internationalization of the Lazio Region. Along with Michele Miglionico, Gattinoni, Camillo Bona, Franco Ciambella, Nino Lettieri, Gianni Molaro, Sabrina Persechino, Jamal Taslaq, and Gian Paolo Zuccarello participated.

A night of stars and haute couture

The evening was hosted by Eleonora Daniele, a well-known face of Rai1, and featured Patty Pravo as the guest of honor. On the runway, Michele Miglionico presented a collection that seeks the essential through alchemical symbols and magical formulas, making the invisible visible.

Inspirations and details of the collection

Miglionico’s collection is inspired by Ernesto de Martino’s post-war Italian tales, characterized by the superstition and propitiatory rites of the Lucanian peasant life. The collection includes ten pieces with simple and strictly couture volumes, divided between day, cocktail, and evening.

Lucanian style and craftsmanship

The volumes of the garments are well-calibrated with skilled tailoring cuts. The skirts have hems below the knee, the cabans are wide and lined with crisp taffeta, while for the evening, muslin and silk georgette are combined with gold-colored lurex. Special attention was given to the use of wool lace, made with ancient looms by local artisans, highlighting the intensity of the Lucanian land.

Artistic collaborations and event realization

The models’ images were curated by Sergio Valente for hairstyling and Simone Belli for make-up. The direction was entrusted to Mazzini Eventi Production, institutional relations to Antonio Falanga & Grazia Marino (Spazio Margutta), and the press office to Barbara Manto & Partners.
