According to the MECSPE Observatory, over 75% of Italian companies have already started partnerships with ITS and universities or plan to do so by the end of the year, aiming to integrate new talents and skills. About one in four companies relies on ITS and university students to update their expertise, and over 60% of businesses expect to hire new personnel by the end of the year.
Training is essential to ensure companies remain competitive during the 5.0 transition. Currently, more than 70% of businesses have already launched or plan to start internal training courses. These efforts are also supported by the 5.0 Transition Plan, which allocates funds for employee training and developing the skills needed to face the challenges of the digital and energy transition.
The MECSPE Observatory highlights that the skills gap remains a challenge for over 54% of Italian companies. However, the growing involvement of ITS and universities offers a solution to this issue. The MECSPE event, scheduled in Bologna from March 5-7, 2025, will showcase the latest innovations and promote collaboration between businesses and educational institutions, fostering a new synergy for the development of Industry 5.0.
