Yesterday, during his speech at the ‘Forum in masseria’ in Manduria, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi highlighted the growing importance of a visible police presence in large cities.
“We are increasingly directing our actions towards a policy of reassurance, with a visible presence of the police, an element highly appreciated today,” Piantedosi stated.
Years ago, the ‘militarization’ of cities was not always viewed positively. However, according to Piantedosi, the situation has changed dramatically. “Today, the tangible and visible presence of police forces is highly sought after,” explained the minister.
Piantedosi concluded his speech by emphasizing that there is no mayor who does not call for a greater police presence in their cities. This request reflects the growing desire for security and reassurance among citizens.
