A congress for the Data Strategy in healthcare
At the XVI SIMM Congress, held on October 4, 2024, in Rome, the importance of developing a Data Strategy for the Italian healthcare system was discussed. The goal is to create a clear and transparent document that integrates various perspectives in the sector, ensuring that citizens have access to their socio-health data and healthcare professionals can improve healthcare planning.
Involvement of institutions and big tech players
Institutions, scientific associations, and major tech companies, known as big players, participated in the Round Table at the congress, contributing to the development of this critical strategy for improving the healthcare system.
The role of general practitioners and the lack of telemedicine
The survey “The state of health of the Emilia-Romagna healthcare system”, presented at the Congress, revealed that over 90% of general practitioners work in isolation, despite agreements for patient management. Telemedicine services remain scarce, according to the analysis conducted on a sample of 1,502 citizens from Emilia-Romagna.
